Does gravity act on particles in the air?

Why is it that when you look at the television screen directly, nothing seems wrong... but when you look at the screen indirectly or from the corner of your eye the screen seems to blink rapidly?

If sound waves are really vibrating (and thus, moving) air particles that travel in waves in a certain direction, would it be possible for someone to sing or shout in such a way as to blow a candle out?

When you spill coffee on the table, why is it that it forms a ring where the edges of the spill are darker than the center where it's either very light or clear when it's dried? Why is it that it's only coffee is the only drink that does this?

Is the sun made of fire, or are the substances we see some kind of plasma? Is fire only heat and light energy or does it consist of something else?
